Hi, my name is
Marcelo Caputo, I was born in July 1973 in the city of
Concordia, province of Entre Rios in Argentina. Since my first
days I realized music was there to surround me… I begun studing
piano and guitar when kid and back in 1987 I had my first on
stage experience.
My first experience was with a band called “Subterraneo” (along
with Tino Cruz, Ruben Rico, Daniel Kueider and the Alejandro and
Hernan Tavella bros). It was a wonderful time, all was new and I
had that mystic and passion someone has in the beginning.
Two years later we formed the group “N.N.” with the absence of
two of the previous members. We begun experiencing rock sounds
without a drummer as our music came out from an old yamaha
organ.
With the change of decade, new bands… and the first jobs as a
solist… later “Gin-Tonic” was born. A pure pop style band doing
covers… the perfect place where I could experiment with my first
own compositions.
In those years the group was growing up very rapidly in
comparison with the slow rythm normal in small villages far away
from the big cities. The daily tests, the never ending nights of
beers, the tobacco…. you know…
In 1992 I had the opportunity to play with “Gin-Tonic” at the
mitic (and sadly gone) “Paladium”, a great disco club where many
argentinian bands were born… just to name a few: Sumo,
Violadores, Soda Stereo…
I also has a great time at the huge “Teatro Alfil” also in
Buenos Aires.
These events brought more and more ilusion to us and I was
willing to go throu the roads the big ones one day took. We were
the support band for great groups as “Los Pericos” a great
argentinian band at the “Fiesta del Lago” (Lake Party) in the
city of Federacion, Entre Rios.
All happened so quickly, our heart was bumping and I was
wondering…”how the great ones did to get their goals?”
So life went on, life changed, and in 1993 “Gin-Tonic” was
something nice to remember.
Later I tried with “It´s coming”… many shows and a great
innovative idea for what was considered normal in those years…
We did live shows in Teatro del Plata, Via Cerino, Remember Pub…
all of them in the great Buenos Aires area. By then… a begun
wondering about how some guys did music with a PC… Day after day
I begun willing to comunicate musicaly that way…
Soon I discovered that my way was more into my digital
productions than on stage, that my inspiration was not only
musical… I also got inspiration from the street, from a river, a
thunder or a simple nightly whisper.
In 1997 I decided to begun my solo carreer.
Later in 1998 I introduced “Rock in the moon”, an independent
production with 8 tracks. It was at a local radio station in
Santa Fe city.
Those tracks, made totaly by me, became the most requested in
the area… also thanks to the collaboration of my great friend
Carlos Centorrino aka Mr. Chento, perhaps the most important
person in the Santa Fe “movida”.
Years passed but questions remained, though answers were found.
At the same time, all those years I´ve made many audio jobs, I
produced many artists and of course, I kept my own music alive
and kicking.
Actually, after experiencing the bands, I decided to believe
even more in composition and production, just me with my stuff
and rigs and not always on stages around.
Forever friends always in my mind as they are my deepest
influence: Jeremias Gomez, Guillermo Zurdo
Burns, Jorybe Franco, Ricardo Brilla, Daniel Kueider, Tino Cruz
and many more to come…
My greatest dream: That everybody get to know my job.
My thought: “The journey is a mix of talent, vision and
technology.”

Hola, mi nombre es Marcelo Caputo, naci en Concordia, provincia
de Entre Rios, Republica Argentina, en julio de 1973. Desde muy
temprano supe que estaria ligado a la musica por el resto de mis
dias.
Comence a estudiar piano y guitarra desde muy pequeño y alla por
el año 1987 inicie mi pasada por los escenarios.
La primera experiencia fue con una banda llamada “Subterraneo”
(junto a Tino Cruz, Ruben Rico, Daniel Kueider y los hermanos
Alejandro y Hernan Tavella). Fue una etapa alucinante, todo era
nuevo y lleno de mistica y pasion.
Pasamos luego de un par de años al grupo NN, con la baja de 2
integrantes y comenzando a experimentar con el rock sin
baterista, ya que nuestra base ritmica salia de un antiguo
organo Yamaha.
Junto con el cambio de decada venia una serie de bandas y los
primeros trabajos solistas. Nace “Gin-Tonic”, una banda de neto
corte pop, haciendo covers, pero donde pude experimentar mis
primeras composiciones.
En aquellos tiempos el grupo crecia vertiginosamente en comparacion
con el lento ritmo de los pueblos alejados de las grandes
capitales. Los ensayos diarios, las interminables noches de
cervezas, los cigarrillos...
En 1992 tuve la oportunidad de tocar con Gin-Tonic en el mitico
(y por desgracia desaparecido) “Paladium”, una disco donde
nacieron grandes bandas argentinas como Sumo, Violadores, Soda
Stereo y tantos mas.
Tambien pude pasar por el escenario del gran “Teatro Alfil”,
tambien en Buenos Aires.
La ilusion se hacia mas intensa con estos acontecimientos y yo
anhelaba transitar el camino de los grandes. Fuimos
banda soporte de Los Pericos (gran banda argentina) en la
“Fiesta del Lago”, en la ciudad de Federacion, en Entre Rios.
Todo venia rapido, el corazon se agitaba y preguntaba ¿Como
hicieron los grandes para llegar?
La vida continuo, la vida muto y ya en 1993 habia dejado atras a
“Gin-Tonic”.
La prueba era ahora con “It’s Coming”, multiples presentaciones,
muchas de ellas cargadas de sentido estetico y una idea
innovadora para lo que se venia proponiendo en la escena de
aquellos tiempos. Shows en vivo en Teatro del Plata, Via Cerino,
Remember Pub, todos ellos en Buenos Aires, hicieron parte de la
historia hasta ese punto. Una pregunta ya comenzaba a frecuentar
mi inquieta mente: ¿Como es eso de hacer música con la PC? En
esos dias surge la inquietud, el ansia de comunicarme
musicalmente de otro modo.
A esta altura ya sabia yo que era mucho mas probable que el
camino fuera a traves de mis producciones en digital que sobre
un escenario, que mi musa no solo era la musica de otros; que mi
inspiracion no solo era musical sino que le llegaba desde la
calle, el rio, un trueno o un simple murmullo en la noche. En
1997 me retire a solitario.
A fines de 1998 presente “Rock in the Moon” una produccion
independiente de 8 temas en una radio de la ciudad de Santa Fe.
Estos cortes hechos completamente en solitario llegaron a ser
los mas pedidos de la zona, gracias a la invaluable colaboracion
de un gran amigo, Carlos Centorrino, alias Mr. Chento, personaje
fundamental de la movida santafesina.
El tiempo ha pasado pero las preguntas no han cambiado, si
las respuestas.
Paralelamente todo este tiempo he realizado trabajos de audio,
he producido varios artistas y claro, siempre he mantenido la
llama viva de mi propia musica.
Hoy luego de recorrer un largo camino, elijo creer mas
en la composicion y produccion en solitario que en el escenario
y las tablas. Siempre presentes han de estar mis amigos de
siempre, quienes son seguramente mi influencia mas profunda:
Jeremias Gomez, Guillermo Zurdo Burns, Jorybe Franco, Ricardo
Brilla, Daniel Kueider, Tino Cruz, Saul Diaz de Vivar... unos que
pasaron y otros que vendran.
Mi sueño mayor: Que todo el mundo conozca mi obra.
Mi pensamiento: “El camino es una mezcla de talento, vision y
tecnologia.”
